Social studies teachers persist in teaching with very traditional methods, none of which fully connect with the digital culture that modern students have grown up in. Curiously though, the subject has been found to be sorely lacking in the utilization of digital tools and artifacts (DTAs), despite Deweyan philosophy being notoriously flexible in terms of knowledge acquisition methodology.
